What are Fractals
Fractals are the beauty of design that is never ending.
A fractal is a mathematical formula rendered in the computer to form a design with color. The computer makes thousands of computations to arrive at a final design. The computer is not alone in this. The artist must decide on which formulas and layers them so that they interact and finally adds color to achieve the design.
Fractals are characterized by their repetitious pattern which seems to go on forever and ever. This sort of repetition and descending pattern can be found in nature. Just look closely at a Fern and see how the parts of a fern repeat the design of the fern as a whole.. . .a fractal!
